Responsibilities
- Execute construction tasks including excavation, concrete pouring, framing, and demolition under supervisor guidance
- Operate heavy machinery (forklifts, excavators) and hand tools with strict adherence to safety protocols
- Load/unload construction materials and maintain organized job site inventory
- Assist skilled tradespeople (carpenters, electricians, plumbers) with material preparation
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs promptly
- Maintain clean, OSHA-compliant work areas through debris removal and hazard mitigation
- Participate in pre-shift safety briefings and toolbox meetings
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year construction labor experience or trade school certification
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid Louisiana driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic math skills for material measurement and inventory tracking
- Night shift availability (6 PM - 6 AM schedule with rotating weekends)
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Experience with power tools (saws, drills, jackhammers) preferred
