Responsibilities
- Assist carpenters and skilled trades with material handling and site preparation
- Operate basic hand tools and light equipment (e.g., saws, drills, compactors)
- Maintain clean, organized job sites and adhere to OSHA safety protocols
- Perform demolition, excavation support, and debris removal tasks
- Read and interpret basic construction blueprints and instructions
- Assist with concrete pouring, framing, and finishing work as needed
Qualifications
- Must be 18+ years old with valid state ID or driver's license
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic understanding of construction safety standards
- Reliable transportation to various job sites in Chicago area
- Availability to work flexible shifts including early mornings and weekends
- Strong work ethic and willingness to follow instructions
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
