Responsibilities
- Execute site preparation tasks including excavation, grading, and debris removal
- Assist carpenters and masons with material handling and basic installations
- Operate hand/power tools safely and efficiently (saws, drills, jackhammers)
- Maintain clean, organized job sites following OSHA and company protocols
- Read blueprints and follow verbal instructions from site supervisors
- Perform concrete pouring, finishing, and minor structural repairs
- Participate in daily safety briefings and hazard identification
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year construction/labor experience preferred
- OSHA 10-hour certification or willingness to obtain
- Valid California Driver's License (required for equipment operation)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic knowledge of construction materials and tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Flexible availability including early mornings and weekends
- Reliable transportation to job sites throughout San Jose
