Responsibilities
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport building materials, tools, and equipment to and from the job site.
- Site Preparation: Assist in preparing the job site by digging trenches, clearing debris, and setting up scaffolding.
- Basic Construction Tasks: Perform general cleanup duties, including sweeping, raking, and removing trash; assist carpenters and masons with various tasks as needed.
- Tool Operation: Operate basic construction tools and power equipment under supervision (e.g., saws, drills, compressors).
- Quality Control: Help ensure that work areas are clean, organized, and meet safety standards throughout the shift.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with foremen and crew members to understand project requirements.
Qualifications
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical labor for long periods, including lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly and standing for extended hours.
- Valid Driver's License: A current and valid driver's license is required for site access.
- Work Ethic: Proven track record of reliability and punctuality in previous employment.
- Safety Awareness: Basic understanding of construction site safety protocols and the willingness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Experience: Prior experience in construction or general labor is preferred but not required for the right candidate.
- Availability: Must be available to work part-time hours, including weekends or overtime as needed.
