Responsibilities
- Site Preparation: Assist in preparing construction sites by clearing debris, digging trenches, and setting up temporary structures.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from the job site using hand trucks, forklifts, or vehicles.
- Tool Operation: Operate power tools, including drills, saws, and compressors, ensuring they are used safely and maintained properly.
- Site Cleanup: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by sweeping, cleaning up spills, and removing waste materials regularly.
- Assist Trades: Support carpenters, electricians, and plumbers by performing basic tasks such as measuring, cutting, and holding materials.
- Quality Control: Help ensure work meets quality standards by performing basic inspections and reporting any issues to the foreman.
Qualifications
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods, including lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly and standing for long durations.
- Experience: Previous construction experience is preferred, but a willingness to learn and train is essential.
- Driver's License: A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required for site transport.
- Reliability: Strong work ethic, punctuality, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Communication: Basic ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and fellow team members.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of basic construction safety protocols (OSHA standards) is a plus.
