Responsibilities
- Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, setting up scaffolding, and organizing materials
- Assist carpenters, masons, and other tradespeople with task-specific labor
- Operate hand/power tools safely including saws, drills, and concrete mixers
- Load/unload construction materials and equipment with proper lifting techniques
- Maintain clean and organized work areas while adhering to OSHA safety standards
- Read basic blueprints and follow supervisor instructions for task execution
- Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year construction labor or skilled trades experience
- Valid California driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or willingness to obtain
- Basic knowledge of power tools and construction materials
- Reliable transportation to job sites within San Jose metro
- Strong work ethic and punctuality with flexible availability
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and stand for extended periods
