Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for real-world commercial applications
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists, engineers, and data scientists
- Develop quantum error mitigation strategies for scalable fault-tolerant systems
- Secure $5M+ in government and industry research grants
- Author white papers and patents positioning Nexus as quantum thought leader
- Collaborate with Fortune 500 partners to deploy quantum solutions
- Mentor PhD researchers and publish in Nature/Science journals
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science with 8+ years industry experience
- Published research in top-tier quantum computing journals (Nature, PRL, etc.)
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proven track record of securing federal research grants (DARPA, NSF, etc.)
- Proficiency in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane)
- Experience leading teams of 10+ technical researchers
- Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical concepts into commercial IP
- Strong background in cryptography or machine learning optimization
