Responsibilities
- Design and execute quantum algorithm research for 2026-scale computational challenges
- Lead a team of 8+ quantum physicists and software engineers in Austin R&D center
- Develop proprietary quantum error correction protocols for industrial applications
- Collaborate with Fortune 500 partners to integrate quantum solutions into real-world systems
- Secure $5M+ in research grants and publish 3+ high-impact papers annually
- Architect quantum-hybrid computing infrastructure for next-gen AI models
- Mentor PhD candidates and establish industry-academic partnerships
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 5+ years leading quantum computing research at top-tier institutions (IBM Research, MIT, etc.)
- Published work in Nature/Science journals on quantum algorithms or hardware
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or equivalent quantum programming frameworks
- Proven track record of commercializing quantum technologies
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence mitigation techniques
- Experience securing DoE or NSF grants for quantum research
