Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing quantum algorithms with exponential speed improvements over classical systems
- Architect fault-tolerant quantum processors targeting 1000+ qubit stability by 2026
- Drive breakthroughs in quantum error correction and decoherence mitigation
- Establish strategic partnerships with academic institutions and government quantum initiatives
- Translate theoretical quantum advantage into practical commercial applications
- Secure $10M+ in research funding through NSF and DoD quantum programs
- Present findings at premier quantum computing conferences (QIP, IEEE Quantum Week)
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Theoretical Physics, or Computer Science with 5+ years industry experience
- Published research in Nature/Science journals on quantum error correction or topological qubits
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and quantum machine learning frameworks
- Proven track record of securing government research grants exceeding $5M
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Deep understanding of quantum hardware architectures (superconducting, photonic, ion trap)
- Experience mentoring postdoctoral researchers in quantum systems
