Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning applications
- Conduct cutting-edge research in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware prototypes using superconducting and ion-trap technologies
- Develop quantum software frameworks and SDKs for industry adoption
- Publish high-impact research in leading journals and conferences
- Secure external funding through NSF and DOE grant proposals
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum computing fundamentals
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with quantum focus
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and optimization techniques
- Strong publication record in quantum computing or condensed matter physics
- Proficiency with cryogenic systems and microwave control electronics
- Demonstrated ability to secure competitive research grants
- Experience mentoring graduate-level researchers
- Deep understanding of quantum information theory and decoherence mechanisms
