Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning
- Conduct quantum hardware research on superconducting qubits and topological systems
- Develop error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum computing
- Publish high-impact research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists, engineers, and software developers
- Secure government grants and corporate partnerships for quantum initiatives
- Mentor PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers in quantum research
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum computing experience with IBM Qiskit or Q#
- Deep expertise in quantum algorithms (Shor's, Grover's, VQE)
- Publication record in quantum information science or condensed matter physics
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and quantum circuit simulation frameworks
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems and quantum control software
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability, and information theory
- Ability to secure federal research grants (NSF/DOE preferred)
