Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Develop quantum error correction protocols to enhance system stability and scalability
- Collaborate with hardware teams to prototype and test quantum processors at cryogenic temperatures
- Lead research initiatives in quantum supremacy demonstrations and practical quantum advantage
- Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at international quantum computing conferences
- Secure research funding through federal grants and industry partnerships
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to patent development for proprietary quantum technologies
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years of research experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Quipper, or Qiskit)
- Proven track record of publishing in Nature/Science/IEEE journals on quantum computing
- Deep understanding of quantum information theory, entanglement, and decoherence mitigation
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (superconducting qubits, ion traps, or photonic systems)
- Strong mathematical background in linear algebra, probability, and complex analysis
- Ability to secure competitive research funding through grant writing
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
