Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum error correction protocols for fault-tolerant systems
- Lead experiments with superconducting qubits and photonic processors
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical algorithms for optimization problems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to improve qubit coherence times
- Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences
- Secure external funding through NSF and DoE grants
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum computing frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Expertise in quantum algorithm design and complexity theory
- Proficiency in low-level quantum hardware control (pulse-level programming)
- Strong publication record in top-tier scientific journals
- Familiarity with cryogenic systems and microwave engineering
- Demonstrated ability to secure competitive research grants
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills
