Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for cryptography, optimization, and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum systems using superconducting qubits and photonic processors
- Develop error-correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computation
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors and control systems
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present findings at IEEE Quantum Week and ACM conferences
- Mentor PhD candidates and junior researchers in quantum information theory
- Secure $1M+ in research grants from DARPA and NSF quantum initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science with 3+ years postdoctoral experience
- Expertise in quantum algorithms (Shor's, Grover's, VQE) and quantum circuit optimization
- Proficiency with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane)
- Published research in Nature Physics or Physical Review X journals
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems and microwave control electronics
- Strong background in topological quantum computing or quantum machine learning
- Track record of securing government or corporate quantum research funding
- Active member of IEEE Quantum Computing Technical Committee
