Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Collaborate with quantum hardware engineers to develop error-correction protocols and qubit stabilization techniques
- Lead cross-functional research initiatives combining quantum computing with AI/ML frameworks
- Publish findings in premier journals (Nature, Science, Quantum) and present at international conferences
- Secure external funding through NSF, DoE, and industry partnerships
- Mentor PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers in quantum methodologies
- Contribute to patent development for proprietary quantum computing innovations
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field with 3+ years postdoctoral experience
- Deep expertise in quantum circuit design, quantum algorithms, and quantum error correction
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and classical HPC environments
- Published record in quantum computing research with minimum 5 peer-reviewed papers
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Demonstrated experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Exceptional problem-solving skills for NP-hard computational challenges
- Preferred: Experience with quantum machine learning frameworks and topological quantum computing
