Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for practical commercial applications
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum error correction protocols
- Lead research initiatives in quantum machine learning and simulation
- Develop secure quantum communication systems resistant to decryption
- Publish peer-reviewed papers and present at IEEE/ACM conferences
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Secure $2M+ in annual research grants from DARPA and NSF
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum focus
- 3+ years experience with quantum gate-based systems (superconducting/ion trap)
- Published research in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Proficiency in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Q#)
- Strong background in linear algebra and complex probability theory
- Experience with high-performance computing architectures (HPC)
- Validated ability to translate theoretical models into experimental prototypes
- Security clearance eligibility preferred
