Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Develop quantum error correction protocols to enhance qubit stability
- Lead experimental validation of quantum computing architectures on hardware platforms
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors and control systems
- Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum computing education initiatives
- Secure external funding through NSF, DoE, and industry partnerships
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Proficiency with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Strong background in linear algebra, quantum mechanics, and complexity theory
- Publication record in quantum computing or related high-impact journals
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, etc.)
- Expertise in machine learning frameworks applicable to quantum systems
- Demonstrated ability to secure competitive research grants
