Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to prototype quantum processors with >99.9% fidelity
- Lead cross-functional research initiatives in quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Publish findings in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.) and present at IEEE conferences
- Secure $5M+ in government and private quantum research funding annually
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information theory and computational complexity
- Develop commercial applications for quantum advantage in cryptography and drug discovery
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development using Qiskit/Cirq
- Published research in quantum computing or quantum information theory
- Expertise in quantum error correction codes (surface, color, LDPC)
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and quantum simulation frameworks
- Experience with superconducting qubit systems or trapped-ion architectures
- Strong track record of securing research grants or industry partnerships
- Certification in quantum computing from IBM or Google Quantum AI
