Responsibilities
- Perform physical labor including excavation, demolition, material handling, and site cleanup
- Operate hand/power tools safely and efficiently (e.g., jackhammers, saws, drills)
- Assist skilled tradesmen with concrete pouring, framing, and finishing tasks
- Read and interpret blueprints, safety protocols, and project specifications
- Maintain organized job sites and adhere to OSHA safety standards
- Transport materials using heavy equipment (forklifts, skid steers) with proper training
- Participate in daily safety briefings and team coordination meetings
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year construction/labor experience preferred
- Valid OSHA 10-hour certification or willingness to obtain immediately
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather
- Basic math skills for measurements and material calculations
- Reliable transportation to job sites across Detroit metro area
- Strong work ethic and punctuality with zero-tolerance policy for tardiness
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Ability to work flexible hours including occasional overtime and weekends
