Responsibilities
- Assist Journeyman Electricians: Provide hands-on support with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
- Read and Interpret Blueprints: Study technical drawings and schematics to understand circuit layouts and wiring requirements.
- Material Preparation: Measure, cut, and thread conduit, as well as pull wire and terminate cables according to NEC codes.
- Tool Maintenance: Keep work area and tools organized, clean, and in safe working condition at all times.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all OSHA safety regulations and company protocols to ensure a safe job site.
- Testing and Troubleshooting: Assist in diagnosing electrical faults and testing systems to ensure proper functionality.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients and homeowners to explain project status and requirements.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED is preferred; technical school certification in electrical trades is a plus but not mandatory.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- Driver's License: A valid New York State driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
- Basic Math Skills: Strong aptitude for basic arithmetic and measurements.
- Work Ethic: Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a willingness to learn new skills quickly.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Legal Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
