Responsibilities
- Site Preparation: Assist in site preparation, including clearing, digging, and grading areas for construction projects.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials using hand trucks, forklifts, or other heavy equipment.
- Equipment Operation: Operate power tools, saws, and other construction machinery safely and efficiently under supervision.
- General Labor: Perform a variety of manual labor tasks, including mixing concrete, sweeping, and cleaning work sites.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist Tradesmen: Support skilled tradespeople (carpenters, electricians, plumbers) with various tasks as needed.
- Quality Control: Help ensure that work is completed according to blueprints and project specifications.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous construction or general labor experience is preferred but not required; on-the-job training provided.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) for extended periods.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
- Tools: Willingness to provide own basic safety gear (steel-toed boots, hard hat, safety glasses) or willingness to purchase upon hire.
- Reliability: Must be punctual, dependable, and able to work in various weather conditions.
- Communication: Basic ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
