Responsibilities
- Site Preparation: Clear, dig, and level construction sites in accordance with blueprints and project plans.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from the site using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks.
- General Labor Support: Assist skilled tradespeople with various tasks, including concrete pouring, framing, and roofing.
- Machinery Operation: Safely operate power tools and heavy machinery, including jackhammers, saws, and drills.
- Safety Maintenance: Ensure all work areas are clean, organized, and compliant with OSHA safety standards.
- Physical Support: Perform manual labor tasks such as digging trenches, mixing concrete, and hauling debris.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous construction or general labor experience is a plus; on-the-job training available.
- Driver's License: Valid Illinois driver's license and reliable personal transportation.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and stand/walk for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Tools: Willingness to learn and use a variety of hand and power tools.
- Communication: Basic ability to read instructions and follow verbal orders from supervisors.
- Availability: Must be available for full-time shifts, including weekends and overtime.
