Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradesmen with construction tasks including material handling, site cleanup, and equipment operation
- Read and interpret basic construction plans and safety protocols
- Prepare job sites by clearing debris, setting up safety barriers, and organizing materials
- Operate hand/power tools safely under supervision (hammers, saws, drills, etc.)
- Perform physical tasks including lifting, digging, and moving construction materials
- Maintain clean and organized work areas to ensure OSHA compliance
- Participate in daily team briefings and safety meetings
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
- Valid government-issued photo ID and ability to pass background check
- Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in outdoor weather conditions
- Willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings and weekends
- Basic math skills for measurements and material calculations
- Strong work ethic and commitment to punctuality
- No prior construction experience necessary – training provided
- Must have reliable transportation to job sites across Orleans Parish
