Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespeople with construction tasks including excavation, material handling, and site preparation
- Operate basic hand tools and power equipment under supervision (saws, drills, jackhammers)
- Maintain clean and organized job sites following safety protocols
- Load/un construction materials and equipment safely and efficiently
- Follow verbal instructions from site supervisors and adhere to project timelines
- Participate in daily safety briefings and emergency drills
- Support demolition, framing, and finishing tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Valid California Driver's License preferred but not required
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
- Reliable transportation to job sites within Oakland area
- No prior construction experience necessary – we provide paid training
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Team player with positive attitude and eagerness to learn
