Responsibilities
- Site Preparation: Load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from job sites; assist in clearing debris and leveling ground.
- Trade Assistance: Support carpenters, electricians, and plumbers with various tasks including cutting, fitting, and holding materials.
- Equipment Operation: Operate heavy machinery and power tools safely (e.g., forklifts, skid steers, drills).
- Quality Control: Ensure all work areas are clean, organized, and comply with safety regulations and OSHA standards.
- Measurement: Perform basic measurements and assist in reading blueprints or site plans.
- Physical Labor: Perform manual tasks such as digging trenches, mixing concrete, and carrying heavy loads.
- Communication: Maintain open communication with site foremen and team members to coordinate daily tasks effectively.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous construction or general labor experience is preferred but not mandatory; on-the-job training provided.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- License: Valid driver's license and a clean driving record required.
- Tools: Basic hand tools knowledge is a plus.
- Safety: Familiarity with OSHA safety guidelines and a commitment to wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Reliability: Strong work ethic and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
