Responsibilities
- Site Preparation: Assist in preparing construction sites by clearing debris, grading the area, and setting up temporary worksite infrastructure.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and distribute construction materials (lumber, drywall, tools, etc.) to job sites using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual labor.
- Equipment Operation: Operate power tools and construction equipment (e.g., saws, compressors, generators) safely under supervision.
- Support Trades: Provide direct support to carpenters, electricians, and plumbers by fetching tools, holding materials, and performing basic tasks.
- Quality Control: Ensure all work meets quality standards and safety regulations by inspecting materials and assisting in final site checks.
- Site Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site by sweeping, cleaning up spills, and organizing tools after each shift.
Qualifications
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform heavy physical labor for extended periods, including lifting up to 50 lbs and standing/walking on uneven terrain.
- Experience: Prior experience in construction, landscaping, or general labor is preferred but not required; on-the-job training provided.
- Tools: Familiarity with basic hand tools (hammers, drills, levels) is a plus.
- Safety Conscious: Must adhere to all OSHA safety standards and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Reliability: Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential for team coordination.
- Communication: Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors.
