Responsibilities
- Site Preparation: Prepare and clean job sites, removing debris and obstacles to ensure a safe working environment.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and organize construction materials, tools, and equipment according to safety guidelines.
- Assist Trades: Support skilled tradespeople (carpenters, electricians, plumbers) with tasks such as holding materials, measuring, and basic setup.
- Equipment Operation: Operate basic construction equipment and machinery safely, including forklifts, jackhammers, and concrete mixers (certification preferred).
- Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret basic blueprints, schematics, and site plans to understand project requirements.
- Quality Control: Perform quality checks on work performed and report any safety hazards or material defects to supervisors immediately.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in general construction labor or skilled trades.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical labor for long periods, including heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing, and walking on uneven terrain.
- Driver's License: Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and ability to work well in a team setting.
- Tools: Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety gear.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
