Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespeople in site preparation, excavation, and material handling operations
- Operate hand/power tools safely under supervisor guidance (jackhammers, saws, drills)
- Load/unload construction materials and equipment using proper lifting techniques
- Maintain clean, organized job sites per OSHA safety standards
- Read basic blueprints and follow written instructions from project managers
- Perform heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs) and sustained physical labor in all weather conditions
- Complete daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year construction labor or related physical work experience
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid California driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Proficiency with basic hand/power tools and construction terminology
- Reliable transportation to job sites across Alameda County
- Flexible availability for weekend shifts (Sat/Sun 6am-4pm)
