Responsibilities
- Execute site preparation tasks including excavation, grading, and debris removal
- Load/unload construction materials using heavy equipment (forklifts, cranes)
- Assist carpenters/masons with material handling and tool management
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and maintain organized work zones
- Operate power tools (saws, drills, jackhammers) under supervision
- Perform concrete finishing, scaffolding assembly, and structural support
- Complete daily equipment maintenance and site cleanup protocols
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months construction labor or related experience
- OSHA 10-Hour certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Basic blueprint reading and measurement skills
- Reliable transportation to job sites across Chicago metro
- Strong teamwork ethic and punctuality for weekend shifts
