Responsibilities
- Execute site preparation tasks including excavation, grading, and debris removal
- Operate hand/power tools (saws, drills, jackhammers) and heavy equipment under supervision
- Assist skilled tradespeople with material handling, layout, and installation processes
- Implement strict OSHA safety protocols and maintain organized job sites
- Read blueprints and follow verbal/written instructions from site supervisors
- Perform concrete work, framing support, and finish carpentry assistance
- Participate in daily safety briefings and equipment inspections
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year construction/labor experience or trade school certification
- Valid OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 75+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor conditions
- Class B CDL preferred (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Proficient with basic hand/power tools and construction materials
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety standards
- Reliable transportation to Oakland job sites with weekend availability
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
