Responsibilities
- Execute site preparation tasks including excavation, grading, and material handling
- Operate hand/power tools (saws, drills, jackhammers) under supervisor guidance
- Assist carpenters/masons with material transport and scaffold assembly
- Maintain clean, organized job sites with proper waste disposal protocols
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and project-specific blueprints
- Support heavy equipment operators during material loading/unloading
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year construction/labor experience preferred
- OSHA 10-hour certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in outdoor weather conditions
- Valid California Driver's License (for equipment transport)
- Basic math skills for material measurement/inventory
- Reliable transportation to job sites across Oakland
- Flexible availability for weekend shifts (6:00 AM - 4:00 PM)
- Pass pre-employment background/drug screening
