Responsibilities
- Load and unload: Safely load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment from delivery trucks and store them in designated areas.
- Site Preparation: Prepare construction sites by cleaning areas, digging trenches, and setting up scaffolding or other structures.
- Basic Machinery: Operate basic construction machinery and hand tools under the supervision of skilled tradesmen.
- Material Handling: Assist in mixing concrete, sanding, and other material preparation tasks as required by the project.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all OSHA safety regulations and company protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
- Site Maintenance: Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards throughout the shift.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with carpenters, electricians, and other tradespeople to ensure project milestones are met efficiently.
Qualifications
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects (50+ lbs) for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Valid Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Experience: Previous experience in construction labor, landscaping, or general labor is preferred but not always required (training provided).
- Tools: Basic knowledge of hand tools (hammers, saws, levels) is a plus.
- Communication: Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Attendance: Reliable attendance and punctuality are mandatory for this role.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
