Responsibilities
- Assist Journeyman Electricians: Support senior team members with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
- Read and Interpret Blueprints: Study and comprehend electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation.
- Perform Basic Wiring: Install conduits, wires, cables, and electrical components following NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Conduct Safety Inspections: Maintain a safe work environment by identifying potential hazards and adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Use Testing Equipment: Utilize multimeters, circuit testers, and other diagnostic tools to verify circuit functionality.
- Site Cleanup: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored after use.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients and homeowners to answer questions and provide updates on project progress.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED: A minimum educational requirement for all apprenticeship programs.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly; ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Basic Math Skills: Comfortable with basic arithmetic for measurements and calculations.
- Driver's License: A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites.
- Willingness to Learn: A strong desire to learn the trade and a positive attitude toward mentorship.
- Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to ensure work meets code and safety standards.
- Background Check: Must pass a standard background check and drug screening.
