Responsibilities
- Perform residential and commercial electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work according to local and national electrical codes (NEC).
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to plan wiring layouts.
- Install and connect wiring, lighting, fixtures, and electrical control panels.
- Test electrical systems to ensure proper functionality using multimeters and testing equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical issues to provide efficient solutions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project status and requirements.
Qualifications
- Apprentice: High school diploma or GED required; no prior experience necessary, but a strong interest in the trade is essential.
- Journeyman: Valid North Carolina Journeyman Electrician License required.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly and work in various weather conditions.
- Valid driverβs license with a clean driving record.
- Basic math skills for calculating electrical loads and material quantities.
- Willingness to obtain required certifications (e.g., OSHA 10-hour) upon hiring.
