Responsibilities
- Assist senior electricians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential and commercial buildings.
- Prepare work areas by laying out materials, organizing tools, and ensuring a clean and safe workspace.
- Perform basic wiring tasks, including stripping wires, connecting outlets, and mounting fixtures under supervision.
- Read and interpret simple blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Use electrical testing equipment, such as multimeters and voltage testers, to verify circuits are live and functioning correctly.
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes.
- Communicate effectively with team members and report any safety hazards or equipment issues to the foreman immediately.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and climb ladders safely.
- Physically capable of lifting 50+ pounds and standing for extended periods.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, fractions) are helpful.
- A strong willingness to learn, follow instructions, and demonstrate punctuality.
