As an apprentice, you will work alongside our certified master electricians, gaining invaluable on-the-job training while contributing to residential and commercial projects throughout the Columbus area. Responsibilities
- Assist Senior Electricians: Support journeyman electricians with installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, fixtures, and equipment.
- Learn Safety Protocols: Actively participate in safety training and strictly adhere to OSHA regulations and company safety standards on all job sites.
- Basic Wiring Tasks: Perform essential tasks such as stripping wire, mounting outlets, switches, and junction boxes under supervision.
- Blueprint Reading: Learn to interpret simple electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to understand project requirements.
- Site Maintenance: Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards to ensure a safe environment for the entire crew.
- Customer Service: Interact with clients professionally, answer basic questions regarding ongoing work, and maintain a positive company image.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions (hot, cold, confined spaces).
- Work Ethic: Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a strong desire to learn the trade.
- Communication: Basic reading and writing skills to understand instructions and safety manuals.
- Availability: Must be available for part-time shifts, including occasional evenings or weekends.
