Responsibilities
- Assist journeyman electricians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial electrical systems.
- Perform basic tasks such as pulling wire, stripping wire, mounting outlets, and installing light fixtures.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations at all times.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment under the direct supervision of a licensed electrician.
- Ensure strict adherence to local, state, and national electrical codes (NEC).
- Communicate effectively with the foreman and team members regarding project progress and safety concerns.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various weather conditions (climbing ladders, bending, stooping).
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, fractions) are essential for measurements.
- Must be willing to undergo a background check and drug screen.
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn the trade and advance professionally.
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
