Responsibilities
- Assist with site preparation, including material handling and debris removal
- Support carpenters and masons with basic tasks like measuring, cutting, and assembling materials
- Maintain clean and organized job sites following OSHA safety standards
- Operate hand tools and light equipment under supervision (e.g., saws, drills, levels)
- Load/unload construction materials and equipment safely
- Follow instructions from site managers and senior team members
- Participate in daily safety briefings and toolbox meetings
Qualifications
- No prior construction experience required - we train!
- Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in outdoor conditions
- Valid government-issued ID and authorization to work in the US
- Reliable transportation to job sites within Chicagoland area
- Willingness to pass pre-employment drug screening
- Basic math skills for material measurements and calculations
- Punctuality and strong attendance record
- Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork
