Responsibilities
- Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, setting up scaffolding, and ensuring proper safety measures
- Assist skilled tradespeople (carpenters, masons, electricians) with material handling and equipment operation
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and safety protocols
- Operate power tools and heavy machinery (forklifts, excavators) with proper certification
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, following OSHA and EPA standards
- Perform physical tasks including digging, lifting, carrying materials (up to 50 lbs), and operating hand tools
- Report project progress and equipment issues to site supervisors
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial or residential construction
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification required (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid California driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and stand for 8+ hours
- Strong knowledge of construction safety protocols and best practices
- Basic blueprint reading and measurement skills
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Must be physically fit with ability to lift heavy objects repeatedly
