Responsibilities
- Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, setting up barriers, and marking hazards
- Operate hand/power tools (saws, drills, jackhammers) for excavation and material handling
- Assist carpenters, masons, and welders with material transport and site setup
- Follow OSHA safety protocols and maintain organized work zones
- Load/unload construction materials and equipment safely using proper techniques
- Perform concrete finishing, trenching, and underground utility support
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
- Collaborate with night shift supervisors to meet project milestones
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year construction labor experience or relevant trade training
- Valid OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and stand/walk 8+ hours
- Basic knowledge of power tools and construction materials
- Reliable transportation to job sites across Detroit Metro
- Availability for consistent night shifts (5 PM - 3 AM)
- Pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Strong teamwork ethic and attention to safety procedures
