Responsibilities
- Design and optimize quantum algorithms for cryptography, machine learning, and simulation applications
- Lead research in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing systems
- Develop novel quantum hardware interfaces and integration protocols
- Collaborate with hardware teams to prototype quantum processors and sensors
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present findings at international conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum computing curriculum development
- Secure and manage research grants from NSF, DARPA, and industry partners
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in quantum computing or quantum information theory
- Deep understanding of quantum mechanics, linear algebra, and complexity theory
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (superconducting, trapped ions, photonics)
- Strong track record of securing research funding or patents
