Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead research in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors
- Publish findings in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Secure federal and industry research grants (NSF, DARPA, partnerships)
- Mentor junior researchers and cross-functional engineering teams
- Develop intellectual property portfolio through patent applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum computing research experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum information theory
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability, and computational complexity
- Experience with quantum simulation frameworks (Qutip, TensorFlow Quantum)
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding and lead projects
- Preferred: Background in superconducting qubits or topological quantum computing
