Responsibilities
- Assist carpenters and masons with material handling, site preparation, and cleanup
- Operate power tools (saws, drills, jackhammers) and construction equipment under supervision
- Follow strict safety protocols and OSHA compliance standards
- Load/unload construction materials and maintain organized job sites
- Perform trenching, excavation, and backfilling operations
- Read blueprints and technical drawings for task execution
- Participate in daily safety briefings and toolbox meetings
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and work in extreme weather
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Basic math skills for measurements and material calculations
- Reliable transportation to job sites across Wayne County
- Pre-employment drug screening and background check required
- 1+ years construction experience preferred but not required
