Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradesmen with material handling, site preparation, and cleanup
- Operate hand/power tools safely and efficiently per OSHA standards
- Read and interpret basic blueprints and project specifications
- Maintain organized workspaces and secure construction materials
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and quality control measures
- Collaborate with diverse teams to meet weekend project deadlines
- Perform light equipment operation (forklifts, excavators) when certified
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year construction labor experience or trade school certificate
- Valid OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
- Basic math skills for material measurement and calculations
- Reliable transportation to job sites within NYC metro area
- Flexibility to work Saturdays/Sundays with occasional overtime
- Willingness to obtain required equipment certifications
