Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a 2026-2030 technology innovation roadmap aligned with market disruption forecasts
- Lead cross-functional R&D initiatives in quantum AI, neural interfaces, and climate-positive engineering
- Conduct horizon-scanning analysis of emerging scientific paradigms and regulatory shifts
- Secure $5M+ in forward-looking grants from NSF, DARPA, and private innovation consortia
- Mentor a team of 12+ futurists and specialist engineers in rapid prototyping cycles
- Present strategic foresight reports to C-suite and board stakeholders quarterly
- Collaborate with MIT Media Lab and Singularity University on 2026+ research initiatives
Qualifications
- 15+ years in R&D leadership with proven impact in emerging tech commercialization
- Expertise in at least three of: quantum computing, synthetic biology, advanced materials science, or neurotech
- Published work in Nature/Science or equivalent peer-reviewed futurist journals
- Track record of scaling ventures from concept to $100M+ valuation
- PhD in computational physics, bioengineering, or equivalent technical discipline
- Active membership in World Future Society or equivalent futurist certification
- Fluency in strategic foresight methodologies (e.g., Delphi, causal layered analysis)
- Security clearance for federal research partnerships preferred
