Responsibilities
- Lead research on emerging technologies (quantum computing, neuromorphic AI, synthetic biology) with 5-10 year horizon impact
- Develop patentable frameworks for next-generation human-computer interfaces
- Coordinate global consortium of academic and industry partners
- Translate complex technical concepts into strategic business roadmaps
- Present future scenarios to C-suite executives and investment committees
- Manage $15M+ R&D budget with quarterly innovation sprints
- Mentor cross-disciplinary teams of engineers and futurists
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Physics, or Cognitive Neuroscience with 10+ years R&D experience
- Published research in Nature/Science or equivalent peer-reviewed journals
- Proven track record of commercializing emerging technologies
- Expertise in at least two of: quantum algorithms, neural interfaces, or molecular computing
- Deep familiarity with ethical frameworks for advanced AI systems
- Exceptional systems thinking and scenario planning capabilities
- Experience leading international research consortia
- Portfolio of 5+ patents or equivalent IP contributions
