Responsibilities
- Site Preparation: Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, digging trenches, and leveling the ground before building begins.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and stack building materials (wood, bricks, concrete) using forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual labor.
- Assist Trades: Support carpenters, masons, and electricians by holding materials, mixing concrete, and performing basic tasks.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate power tools, handheld equipment, and basic heavy machinery (skid steers, compressors) as trained.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to OSHA safety regulations, wear proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and report hazards immediately.
- Site Cleanup: Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times to prevent accidents.
Qualifications
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in general construction or labor is preferred; candidates with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
- Physical Stamina: Must be able to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly, stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- License: Valid North Carolina Driverβs License and clean driving record required.
- Tools: Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is a plus.
- Communication: Ability to follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors effectively.
- OSHA 10: Certification in OSHA 10 for Construction is highly preferred.
