Responsibilities
- Site Preparation: Assist in preparing construction sites by clearing debris, digging trenches, and setting up temporary structures.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport building materials, tools, and equipment to and from the job site safely.
- Assistance: Support skilled tradespeople (carpenters, electricians, etc.) by performing manual labor tasks such as holding materials, cleaning work areas, and assisting with measurements.
- Equipment Operation: Operate basic construction machinery and tools under supervision, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Quality Control: Help maintain high standards of workmanship by ensuring materials are used correctly and sites remain organized.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with the site foreman and team members to ensure project timelines are met.
Qualifications
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods, including standing, walking, lifting, and climbing.
- Willingness to Learn: A positive attitude and a strong desire to learn new skills in the construction industry.
- Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to ensure safety and quality in all tasks performed.
- Safety Conscious: Familiarity with basic construction safety standards (OSHA guidelines) is a plus but not required.
- Communication Skills: Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license is preferred.
