Responsibilities
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from job sites using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Site Preparation: Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, digging trenches, and setting forms for concrete work.
- Tool Operation: Assist with the safe operation of hand and power tools, ensuring all equipment is maintained properly.
- Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized work area in strict compliance with OSHA safety regulations.
- Crew Assistance: Help skilled tradespeople (carpenters, electricians, etc.) with various tasks as directed by the foreman.
- Documentation: Complete daily logs and report any safety hazards or material shortages immediately.
Qualifications
- Experience: Prior experience in construction, landscaping, or general labor is preferred but not required for the right candidates.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Driver's License: A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required for site access.
- Tools: Basic familiarity with construction tools and safety gear (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves).
- Communication: Ability to communicate clearly with crew members and follow verbal instructions.
- Safety: Must pass a background check and drug screen; commitment to safety protocols is mandatory.
