Responsibilities
- Site Preparation: Assist in preparing construction sites by clearing debris, digging trenches, and setting up scaffolding for the night shift crew.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment to and from the work site using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks.
- Assistance: Support skilled tradespeople, including carpenters and electricians, with various tasks such as holding materials, cleaning work areas, and measuring.
- Tool Operation: Operate hand and power tools safely and correctly, including saws, drills, and levels, as directed by the site supervisor.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations and company protocols to maintain a secure work environment for yourself and your team.
- Site Cleanup: Maintain a clean and organized job site at the end of each shift to ensure safety and readiness for the next day.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with the shift lead and other crew members to coordinate tasks and report any safety concerns.
Qualifications
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform heavy physical labor for extended periods, including standing, walking, lifting, and bending.
- Availability: Must be available to work rotating night shifts (e.g., 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM).
- Driver's License: A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
- Experience: Previous construction labor experience is a plus but not required; we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Reliability: Strong work ethic, punctuality, and the ability to work well in a team setting.
- Tools: Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety equipment is highly desirable.
- Communication: Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions clearly.
